Back to Paris for Paris Manga Con, 5 years after I visisted this convention the first time. Now it´s also at another place, so it was another adventure to figure out how to travel to it well. And one thing I have learned about going to conventions in another country, is traveling on time.
So on Friday morning my travel already started. With a few delays by a few trains I arrived 30 minutes later at the convention place; Villepinte France. First things first, checking in with the hotel and organize my room for the weekend. After we took some dinner and had a few more convention preparotions that evening.
Convention weekend:
With the other edition from this event in my mind, I started this weekend as well. At first, I thought, in a bigger place. So more time, space etc.. but actually not. It’s a very busy convention, with in every corner something to see and/or do. But since I was especially there to meet a few actors, I was the whole weekend in and around the guest corner.
They did manage a good thing around selfies. Instead of taking those after getting an autograph at the autograph tables. It was now in the afternoon in the photobooth booth. You immediately had great lighting because the photographer kept his light props. Also, not that much other people could see you when having your selfie moment. Which makes it already a little more comfortable.
During this edition, it was really amazing that there were cooking panels. Different special guests had come on the mainstage to cook or bake something with a local public figure; Nathalie Holms. Who’s in France, well known for her cooking videos online.
A convention weekend, with similarities to the other event 5 years ago. But also some nice differences. Which was a mix of a lovely and magical weekend in Paris.
