A new year and so a new convention year. At least that’s what we all thought at the beginning of 2020 when we were all planning new conventions we wanted to go. So did I, with Brussels Comic Con in February 2020.

Everything like travel, stay and convention tickets are planned and I actually was ready to go. Next of ofcourse packing my suitcase and selecting the clothes I wanna wear during the travel. To go to Brussel I have a travel of 1 hour and 30 minutes, and when I arrived I decided to go first to my airbnb to drop my suitcase etc. After I did this, I made a little walk in the neighborhood.

The convention itself has 3 bigger halls, where you think that it isn’t a big convention. But it’s also not a small convention. All the halls are actually a big Dealer Hall, because there are a lot of merchandise stands. Somewhere in-between those stands is a mainstage build for the panels with extra guests. Not very practical because while fans of a guest stand in front of the mainstage, other people walk through it and there is a lot of background noise.

For the rest the convention experience was more then okay, it was busy and overwhelmed. But you could live with it. Also the experiences with the special guests where wonderful, seeing their reactions when a lot of fans are coming over to meet them creates even more magical. Brussels Comic Con was one of the last conventions before the whole world came in a total lockdown.
